Boredom and laziness!

‘This is soooooooo Boring “

 

 

These sentences we hear often ,and probably we ourselves say this so frequently .Today I see people get bored with at their workplace ,students feel bored in college lectures, house wife feels bored at home watching daily soaps or may be cooking .Kids feel bored of playing  same video game .

Have we ever thought as to why do we get bored so frequently .Why are not we able to involve ourselves in activates which we like .Why do we use the word “BORED” so often Also getting bored is making us lazy too.

 

Let’s looks at causes and ways to come out of boredom:

 

1.Lack of outdoor activity : Some of kind outdoor activity is a must .Sitting whole day at home makes the body feel lazy ,the moment your body feels lazy ,you start getting the feeling of boredom .So some kind of outdoor activity is a must .Outdoor activity could be going to gym in morning or jogging. Its could be playing football or tennis ,any outdoor sport ,this is something which keep your body involved in some activity .Keeping your body in activity is necessary to avoid laziness and boredom. So look out for a 30 min or 1 hour outdoor activity everyday.

 

 

2.Overeating: Overeating is another major reason for laziness and boredom .When you overeat your body starts feeling heavy and sleepy too .So again you start feeling bored since you be just sitting or resting at one place after the overeating. So avoid overeating especially in day time .Eating healthy food is not only good for health, but also will keep you away from becoming lazy and bored. Having tea or coffee once in day will also keep you fresh.

 

 

3. Meditation or Yoga: Involve yourself in yoga or meditation .This keeps your mind fresh .Its helps in keeping your peace of mind .Also it re-energizes your body .So try out this, at least once in a week if not everyday.

 

 

4. Help yourself: Do your work on your own .Don’t wait for mom or your wife to do things for you .Get into the habit of doing all your things on your own .This will keep you occupied. When at home try cleaning up your room or may be giving a different look to your room .Probably you can make some good posters for your room or set your clothes in place .Don’t be lazy in cleaning up your room .If your room is clean you will fresh, if room is all scattered and if you are not interested in cleaning it up, you feel lazy and bored in you r room.

 

 

5.Explore your Hobby: Try to explore the creative side of you .Every person has a creative art in them .So explore yourself .Involve in some hobby .It could be gardening, or may leering music or writing poems or may be reading books or writing daily personal dairy . The best way I see to overcome boredom is involving you in a hobby.

 

 

I have a friend of mine who is an eye surgeon, whose daily routine involves being in hospital from morning till evening with one weekly off. However in spite of hectic schedule I find him involving all his spare time in kitchen gardening and studying about new plants, seeds, drafting etc…He says this activity may not give him any monetary benefits but definitely gives him tremendous mental satisfaction and also helps him in keeping his mind and body fresh. Thus he loves spending his early morning and weekends for this. I would call this a healthy activity.

 

Let’s take yet another example……..

 

 

My office colleague, who is an IT professional, spends his weekend in preparing and conducting career workshops free of cost for vernacular medium schools, just to make them aware about career options.

 

 

He says that this weekend activity gives him lots of positive energy which prevails and helps him to happily manage his weekly office hectic schedules.

 

 

So wake up and don’t let the bore bug bite you more!!
