Waist exercise with weights
- Stand with feet shoulder width apart.
- Arms should be extended downwards
- Take a weight in each hand (dumbbells are great but tins of beans will do).
- Bend to the right keeping the left hand arm straight, the right arm should be bent with the hand and the weight in the arm pit.
- Aim for a fluid motion as you repeat for the left hand side.
- Repeat 10 times for each side.
Bending exercise right and left

- Stand with legs width apart.
- Raise arms above the head with palms together.
- Bend the upper body to the right. The arms should be slightly bent to avoid muscle strain.
- Return to an upright position then repeat, bending to the left.
- Repeated 10 times each side.
The Forward-Backward Bend
The Forward-Backward Bend is one of the best waist exercises you can do. It tones, stretches and strengthens your abdominals, waist, hips, thighs and lower back.
- Stand straight and bend yourself towards front and back as much as you can stretch.

- Sit on floor or mat. Lie straight with hands on floor over head.
- Simultaneously raise straight legs and torso.
- Reach toward raised feet.
- Return to starting position.
- Repeat 10 times.
