Most of our work is done on computers, and there is usually no escape from it.
It is a visually intensive task and, unfortunately, our work pressure and lifestyles do not give us the opportunity to be kind to our eyes.
Which is why these tips should come in handy?

Eye to monitor the ideal distance
Your computer monitor should be straight in front ideally at distance of more than 25 inches from the computer

Monitor location
The ideal area of viewing monitor is 6 inches below the horizontal eye level.

Font color selection
Preferably work with font of dark shades on light background and vice –versa.
|
Anti - glare screen
Attach anti-glare screen in front of monitor, which will decrease the amount of light reflected from the screen.

Document holder
Use a screen mounted document holder ,positioned between keyboard and monitor almost at the same distance and height as that of monitor.

Light effect
Use suspended lights from ceiling and window with shades, blinds or curtains .Avoid light directly hitting eyes.

Sitting posture
Use chair with arm rest which are able to provide support while typing ,position of head slightly tilted downwards and height of the chair adjusted appropriately so that the feet rest on the floor.

A.C. distance
Avoid sitting at a location with direct blow of air on eyes from a blower or A.C. or for a long period in room with low humidity.

20-20 -20 Rule
Take a short break for your eyes after every 20 minutes of your work for 20 seconds, and then look at the objects that are at least 20 feet away.

Eye exercise
Close your eyes and slowly roll your eyes clockwise and anticlockwise. Repeat it for three times.
