Recipe of Kheer

Ingredients: Serve for 4 people

  • Milk – 1 litre
  • Rice – 50 gms
  • Condensed Milk – 200 gms
  • Cashew nuts – 4-5 pieces
  • Almonds – 8-10 pieces
  • Pista – 4-5 pieces
  • Saffron – 3-4 pieces

 

Preparation:

 

Boil milk on a slow flame till it becomes half the quantity or for 1 hour. Add rice to it after half hour of boiling the milk. Boil the mixture of rice and milk together till it blends properly, do keep stirring the mix. Add condensed milk after the mixture is ready (it should become thick) keep stirring it while adding condensed milk or lumps may get formed.

 

Soak almonds in water for 2 hours then peel of the skin and cut it into small pieces and add to the kheer. Cut cashew nuts also in small pieces. Add raisins and cut cashew nuts to the kheer. Add soaked saffron (it will give good flavour and colour to the kheer)

 

Garnish Kheer with cut pista’s on top and serve it cold.
