GOAL is the key for Self Motivation
Written by Khyat iDesai Katoch , Tuesday, 13 April 2010 09:08

We all often come across a phase where in we feel that we lack motivation….The same happened with me .From past few days I have been feeling that I am not appreciated enough…and since I am not appreciated by my family friends etc…I feel, I lack motivation ….I often get annoyed with my husband saying that  I do my regular work so well,I keep the house so perfect …. but still you never appreciate and probably...

...that is demotivating me !!!

Then yesterday I just sat and ran through my thoughts ….and realized that the reason for not being motivated is not that I am not appreciated,nor is it the environment around me.It is  because I don’t have a GOAL for myself!!

We all keep saying we lack motivation and we keep blaming others ,some say that office environment is not so good…so  I am not motivated and some blame it on boss and management .Some blame it on family ….but helloooo…just sit back and think,why should somebody else come and motivate you ?

The reason for your  lack of motivation is lack of focus towards your GOAL or probably no GOAL.

I keep complaining that climate in Delhi s not good.It’s very hot in summers,the body gets tired very fast in such a climate but then when I look out of the window …I see so many workers working on a construction site from morning till night!!!For them this climate hardly matters.

What is it, that motivates them to work so hard in such a climate….? Its their GOAL …to earn a living for their family at the end of the day .

Your goal is your soul for self motivation.So keep your GOALS clear.Focus on your GOAL

And you will realize that nothing else is needed to be motivated.Just make your mind,body and soul realize your GOAL.Once you have done this you will never lack motivation.

You need to hold yourself accountable for your GOALS. Write a letter  to yourself ,date it, and sign it. Put this letter some place where you will see it everyday

You must convince yourself - you can!

I read this short story yesterday and it inspired me ,so sharing with you .

Archie was thinking while under a tree.
He was thinking and thinking of how he should be.
He lived every day like the one that went by.
Every day seemed the same and he did not know why.

He got up, he got dressed, went to school, then came back;
did some homework, then played before hitting the sack.
Was that all that there was? It seemed somewhat a waste.
Archie's mind was the kind of a mind to make haste.

He did not like to watch as time hurried away.
Archie wanted the most from each valuable day.
Life was moving along, almost out of control
until Archie decided, he needed a goal.

A good goal could bring purpose to hope and work for.
The right goal could make life mean much more than before.
Archie wanted a goal that would challenge his mind,
and show others that he could be loving and kind.

How could he help the world and still help himself too?
Archie thought by the tree about what he should do.
Then the answer came clear as a fresh flowing stream.
Archie's goal was so simple...It was like a dream.

He would make each day better than one that passed,
and make the world better in ways that last.
If he made each day better, a little bit more;
every day would be better than ever before.

With the goal in his mind to be better each day,
Archie made the world better in work and play.
He worked harder at school to learn all he could.
He was kinder to others. It made him feel good.

He did laundry at home for his mom and dad.
When he made them feel happy, he also felt glad.
He picked up all the trash that he found on the street.
He gave food to a poor man with nothing to eat.

Archie made each new day better than the last one.
He brought others more joy, and he too had more fun.
Archie's goal gave his life much more meaning to live.
It felt good to work hard finding new ways to give.
Archie made each day better, and soon came to see;
every day was the best day that ever could be.

Lastly I would say ,

If you don’t have GOALS, you won’t be motivated.

The other way round is also equally true

“If you don't have a GOAL, you don't need motivation”
