It happens with me ,many a times that I am not hungry but I feel the urge to munch something….I keep looking in fridge and in kitchen for some snack and after I have eaten, I start thinking ,"Am I OVEREATING?"
Most of usfeel the urge to eat even if we are not hungry, even if we have just had our meal sometime back.Ever thought why this is so? What’s the reason behind this?
I tried finding out this today and let me share with you my research. One primary and most common biological reason for overeating is that you have either skipped your breakfast or you have gone too long without eating, may be 5 to 6 hours.
In our busy work life most of us tend to skip our breakfast, most of us ,just sip a juice or coffee and are on the way to office, some of us skip the breakfast thinking that we ate too much in last night’s party, so let me diet by skipping the breakfast.
However we don’t realize that ,by having too less or no breakfast ,we are starving our body all the more. From last night till late morning the body is starving ,and it is bound to feel more hungry during lunch time.So the first rule to avoid OVEREATING is have a proper breakfast in morning .
Enjoy your breakfast.
I feel at times our emotions make us OVEREAT.You must be thinking what kind of emotions?
It could something as simple as boredom. This mostly happens in afternoon or late evening’s at home. Maybe there's nothing good on television, nothing good to surf on netor friends are too busy ,thus our mind and body feels the loneliness ,it feels bored.
Since we have nothing to do,we feel like munching something. We tend to OVEREAT to kill the time ,to kill the boredom.
So how do we handle this ?
It is simple, try to keep yourself too busy .However still if you get bored ,then keep some fruits and salads in your fridge, eat these ,so that you can handle calories and boredom together.
So what else can we do to handle OVEREATING?Should we keep a check on the colarie intake ?
Answer to this question is simple ,All of us enjoy eating and most of us our not good in keeping the calorie count .So the best thing we can do is -
Keep a eye on your weight .If you feel you have gained too fast in a short time, try to cut down your meals ,don’t fast. “Eating less “ plays an important role in managing your weight apart from exercise .
So try to eat less, however dont starve yourself or do fast or try to restrict yourself from particular types of food .The moment you starve yourself or restrict yourself from eating ,your body will psychologically start feeling hungry and you are bound to overeat. So try eating less instead.
Enjoy your meal ,eat slowly. It will help you from OVEREATING.
Try to increase intake of salads, curds, fruits, soups in lunch and dinner ,these are healthy and reduce your urge to eat more. These are foods that will fill you up . You'll be less hungry, if you have a satisfying portion of food that is low in calories.
Eat lot of protein ,cut down on carbohydrate and fat .
These are my simple tips for avoiding OVEREATING. Hope it helps you.Wish you a Good Health.Take care.
