Everyday when I go to gym, I see a couple of others exercising too. There are some who come regularly, at a fixed time and for about 40-45 min, they also have their exercise regime fixed and do it whole heartedly.
Then, there are some who do come to gym everyday, but somehow they are not able to decide what exactly they want to do in 30-40 min. They keep moving from one machine to another. Somehow I feel they are making a half hearted attempt and are not focused towards their fitness.
I also wonder whether they themselves feel satisfied after the workout.
Let me share with you my personal experience,
Ever Friday I make chicken curry using same ingredients, same method, but sometimes it is excellent to taste and sometime it is just good or average type.
Reason being, the day I make it with my 100% focus and efforts it’s excellent and the day I make it with less focus and efforts, it is not very good.
As we know when we are doing a particular task or an activity, there is a reason or a purpose for doing it, as such we expect that on performing the task, we will be achieving the purpose or the objective with which we did it .
However most of the time we are not happy with the outcome or results. I believe the sole for not able to achieve the results as desired is that we are not giving our 100% to the task.
So how do I make sure that I am giving my 100% to my task at hand?
Focus
Focus on the task you have taken. Before starting the task, take few seconds to focus on it. For eg- If you have decided to clean your room today, take a few seconds and focus on the areas in your room which require most attention.
Plan
Before you start the task, try to plan in your mind itself or write down a short plan for your task. I often do this, whenever I go to buy grocery, before leaving the house, I make a list of things I need to buy and the shop, from where I want to buy and the amount of cash I need to carry.
Time Management
Time is a very important factor. Most of our tasks are time bound, so we need to plan accordingly. For example if you have thought that I am going to exercise in morning for 45 min, plan how you are going to utilize those 45 minutes, are you going to concentrate on running ,or do some weight exercise. If you are going to do both then plan, how much time would you spend on each activity individually.
Multi tasking
There are many people who believe in Multi Tasking, but its not really going to help you because you need to decide which stuff can be multi tasked and which should be given full preference. I believe that, focus on a single point is seriously going to help you in increasing your productivity. Entertainment you can go for multi tasking and run multiple tasks.
Effort
If my efforts are not aligned with my task or are not focused for the achievement of task, then my task will never be 100% fruitful. I need to work hard towards my task, give my full efforts, so that I enjoy the results to the fullest.
Enjoy your task
Most important thing is, enjoy your task. You know what, the day I write article with a good mood, I get lot of viewers for my article. So enjoy the task which you do.
