Will UPA's return revive Indian IT?
Written by Khyati , Tuesday, 19 May 2009 19:27

There's a whiff of jubilance across India Inc. The clear mandate received by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) that promises a stable government and the fact that the new government

will not have to deal with Left parties’ interference while pursuing its economic agenda has livened up Business India.

The new government at the centre also offers a ray of hope for the Indian IT sector. The IT industry, which is battling recession and protectionism in its biggest market, is hoping for a renewed thrust towards the sector by a stronger, reform-oriented government.

The software services and outsourcing industry expects the UPA government to increase spending on IT initiatives, education and infrastructure.

But, will the UPA government really be able to create a magic and revive the sagging fortunes of Indian IT? Or is this enthusiasm of the IT industry will be shortlived? What do you think?
